Privacy & cookies
This page explains what this website does with your information. It is written to describe what the site actually does today, not a generic policy copied from somewhere else.
Who we are
F.A.B Garden Buildings, of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, is responsible for any personal information you give us. For anything about this page or your information, email [email protected] or call 07572 937255.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies for an ordinary visitor. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, no embedded video and no social media widget that could set one. The fonts are served from this site rather than from a third party, so nothing is requested from another company as you read a page.
If you choose an option on the cookie notice at the bottom of the screen, that choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to us, and it is there purely so the notice stops appearing. Clearing your browsing data removes it.
Anyone who logs in to manage the site does receive cookies from WordPress, which are strictly necessary to keep them logged in. That does not apply to visitors.
If you contact us
There is no contact form on this site. If you get in touch, it will be through Facebook Messenger, by phone on 07572 937255 or by email to [email protected].
What you send us — your name, how to reach you, your address if we are coming to measure up, and any photographs of your garden — is used to answer your enquiry, price the work and carry it out. It is not sold, shared with anyone else for marketing, or added to a mailing list.
Our legal basis for using it is that you have asked us to quote for or carry out work, and we need your details to do that. Once a job goes ahead, we keep the records our accounts and tax returns require by law.
Who else sees it
Messages reach us through the service you choose, and that service’s own privacy policy applies as well as this one: Meta for Facebook Messenger, Google for email (our address is a Gmail account), and your phone network for calls and texts. Meta and Google may store data outside the UK, including in the United States, under the safeguards set out in their own policies.
Beyond that, the only people who see job records are whoever prepares our accounts, and HMRC if it asks. Nobody else.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within 12 months. Records of work we have carried out are kept for six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, which is what tax law requires, and then deleted.
Photographs of finished work
We photograph buildings we have finished and put some of those photographs on this site and on our Facebook page. They show the building, not the household. If we have worked at your property and you would rather a photograph was not used, tell us and we will take it down.
Hosting and security
Like virtually all web servers, the server hosting this site keeps short-term access logs which can include IP addresses. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to build any profile of you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Get in touch and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this page
If we add anything to the site that collects information or sets a cookie — analytics, a contact form, a Facebook feed — this page will be updated to say so before or at the same time, and the cookie notice will be changed to ask for consent properly.
