What we build
More room, without moving house
Most of the garden buildings asked for fall into one of three jobs: somewhere to work in, somewhere to put things or somewhere to relax and enjoy their time in.

Garden rooms & offices
Insulated, lined and wired garden rooms for working from home, a studio, a gym, a bar or somewhere quiet to sit. Glazed doors, windows where you want them, power and lighting in.

Sheds & workshops
Apex and pent sheds, bike and mower stores, and proper workshops with benches and windows. Heavier framing and thicker cladding than a flat-pack, because they have to last.

Carpentry services
Bar fitting, timber repairs and fitted joinery. The same joiners who build the garden buildings, on the smaller jobs around them.
How we work
Built in the workshop. Finished in your garden.
Working under cover means the timber stays dry and square while it is being cut and put together, and it means your garden is a building site for a day or two rather than a fortnight. The sections come out on the van, go up on a level base, and get their roof, doors and glazing on site.
From first message to finished building
Four steps, no surprises
01
Tell us the idea
Message us with roughly what you want and the space you have got. A photo of the garden and a rough measurement is plenty to start with.
02
Free quote
We price the building you have described — size, cladding, roof, doors and windows — so you can see what each choice costs. No charge and no pressure.
03
We build it
Your building is made up in the workshop while you get the base sorted. We will tell you exactly what base it needs and what size to make it.
04
Delivered and up
We deliver, install and finish it, clear up after ourselves, and walk round it with you before we leave.
What goes into one
The bits you only notice later
Pressure-treated framing
Tanalised timber throughout, so the frame is protected from the inside out rather than relying on a coat of paint.
Proper floors
Joisted and boarded floors on bearers, kept up off the ground so air can get underneath.
Cladding you choose
Shiplap, loglap or feather-edge, in the finish you want. It changes how the building looks more than anything else does.
Felt or EPDM roofs
Apex or pent, with a decent overhang so rain runs clear of the cladding instead of down it.
Insulated and lined
On garden rooms: insulation in the walls, floor and roof, lined out in tongue-and-groove or plasterboard, ready to use all year.
Power and lights
Sockets, lighting and outside lights run in where you want them, ready for a qualified electrician to connect.

Questions people ask
Before you get in touch
Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
Usually not. Most garden buildings go up under permitted development, as long as the building is single storey with eaves no higher than 2.5m, is under 2.5m tall overall if it is within two metres of a boundary (and no more than 4m anywhere), does not sit forward of the front of the house, covers no more than half the land around the house together with any other outbuildings, and is not being used as somewhere to sleep. Listed buildings, flats and conservation areas are the common exceptions, and larger buildings can need Building Regulations approval even when planning is not needed. We will tell you if we think yours is a case worth ringing the council about, but the final word is always with your local planning department.
What sort of base does it need?
It needs to be flat, level and firm, and the same size as the building or very slightly bigger. Concrete, paving slabs on a compacted sub-base, or a timber frame on ground screws all work. We will tell you exactly what size to make it once the building is priced, and the base needs to be down before we deliver. If you would rather not sort it yourself, ask and we will quote for it.
How long does it take?
Once it is booked in, most sheds and workshops are made up in the workshop within a couple of weeks, and installation is normally a day. A larger insulated garden room takes longer to build and two to three days on site to finish. We will give you a realistic date when we quote, and tell you ourselves if anything moves.
Can I have it a size that is not on your list?
Yes, and most people do. Everything is built to order, so the size, the roof style, where the door goes and how many windows you want are all up to you. If your garden has an awkward corner, a slope or a gate we have to get through, tell us at the quote stage and we will design around it.
Do you do the electrics?
We run the cable, sockets, switches and lights into the building as part of the build, so everything is in place and hidden in the walls. Connecting it back to your house consumer unit is notifiable work, so that last step is done by a qualified electrician. We can work alongside yours or point you at someone local.
How much does a garden room cost?
It depends almost entirely on size, whether it is insulated and lined, and how much glazing you want — those three things move the price far more than anything else. A straightforward shed and a fully insulated garden office are very different jobs. Rather than quote a number that turns out to be wrong, we would rather price the actual building you have in mind.
