F.A.B Garden Buildings
A Chesterfield workshop making timber garden buildings, one at a time, to order.
We are based in Chesterfield and we build garden rooms, offices, bars, summerhouses, sheds and workshops — and take on the carpentry around them. Everything is made in our own workshop rather than bought in, which is what lets us build to your measurements instead of asking you to pick the nearest size off a list.
Most of our work comes from people who have seen a building we put up for someone they know, which is the way we would rather it worked. It also means we would sooner talk you into the right building than the biggest one.

Quote what it costs
The price we give you is the price for the building we described. If you change your mind about the size or the glazing we will re-price it, but the number does not move on its own.
Say what is realistic
If your garden will not take what you have in mind, or access will not allow it, we will tell you before you have paid anything rather than on the morning of delivery.
Build it to last
Pressure-treated timber, braced frames, roofs with a real overhang and floors kept up off the ground. The parts you cannot see are the ones that decide how long it lasts.
Clear up after ourselves
Offcuts, packaging and old buildings go with us. We walk round the finished job with you before we leave, and anything you are not happy with gets sorted.

Where are you based?
Chesterfield, in Derbyshire. The buildings are made up in our workshop and delivered out from there, and we deliver across Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
Do you have a showroom I can visit?
We are a working workshop rather than a display site, so there is not a showroom to wander round. The photographs on our work page and our Facebook page are the best way to see what the buildings actually look like, and there is usually something part-built in the yard if you want to come and look at how they go together. Ask when you get in touch.
Do you do the base as well?
We can. Most people sort their own base because it is straightforward — we tell you exactly what size and type it needs to be — but if you would rather we did it, ask for it to be included when we quote.
How do I pay, and do you take a deposit?
Buildings are made to order, so there is a deposit when you book to cover materials, with the balance due on completion. We will set the exact terms out in writing with your quote so there is nothing to guess at.
What areas do you deliver to?
Anywhere in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. We are busiest around Chesterfield, out to Matlock and Bakewell, and in Sheffield, Rotherham, Mansfield and Worksop — the areas we cover page lists the towns we visit most. If you are further afield, ask anyway.
